Taw Poll
Rationale
1. TCU
Still dominating teams and still winning. Offense is improving week over week.
2. Bama
Bye Week
3 UT
Beat OSU in Stillwater by 30 points. Defense looks very good. Offense is still pretty average. 2 picks sixes, and 2 short field touchdowns courtesy of Zach Robinson. But realistically this was UT's last test in the just plain awful Big 12.
4. UF
Was UF impressive or UGA pathetic? Probably a bit of both. I'm still seeing nothing out of the Gator offense in terms of a real passing game. Every Viking game I watch convinces me that Harvin not Tebow was their real MVP. Also, Brandon Spikes is a complete hypocrite scumbag who should sit for two games. Urban Meyer off or on the field discipline is a joke.
5. Iowa
Wow, your QB throws 5 Ints through 3 quarters, but then he throws 2 70 yard+ td passes. Indiana got royally screwed on that TD call being overturned, if not for that Iowa might have lost. Really need an Iowa loss soon.
6. Cincinnati
Still playing very well, just waiting for their 2 game Big East major opponents.
7. Oregon
Okay, Oregon beat Boise. Right now neutral site game who are you taking Boise or Oregon? Oregon dismantling of USC was beyond impressive.
| 8. Boise |
Playing bad competition, and wins over teams like Tulsa look worse and worse |
9. LSU
Last time LSU was ranked this high, they played UF and looked like total ass at home. This week Bama in Tuscaloosa to see if LSU is for real, or the SEC is just down like the Big 12.
10. GA Tech
Defense which is their biggest weakness had a rough first half with Vandy. However, their option attacked created 56 points and 600 yards. Home v Wake, is their last real hurdle from the ACC championship game.
11. Houston
Won an unreal shootout versus Southern Miss, their fall asleep game against UTEP is really hurting them otherwise they'd be up there with Boise and TCU.
12. Pittsburgh
Get a chance to beat ND and effectively eliminate them from BCS bowl contention.
13. Penn State
Worst one loss team in the country. Haven't proved a thing. Beating Ohio State would be a nice start, they would also basically hand Iowa the Rose Bowl with that win.
14. Utah
Still only have one loss. Their season really is riding on their matchup with TCU, a game that they really should have lost last year.
15. Arizona
Still technically have a chance at the Rose Bowl, t two loss team in the nation. Not out of ACC race yet. |
16. USC
Big game Pete got his ass ran over all day. Just dominated, pushed around. BCS bowl streak is probably over.
17. Miami, FL
Almost lost to Wake Forest. Huge rally by the Canes.
18. Oklahoma State
Got smashed at home by UT. Really a pathetic showing by the Sheeplovers. Zach "Pick Six" Robinson had just a terrible game.
19. USF
Huge win over WVU on Thursday night. Have a chance to finish strong after folding the last couple of years.
20. tOSU
Have a chance to basically hand the Rose Bowl to Iowa by losing to Penn State. Watch Pryor have a big game.
21. Fighting French (Notre Lame)
Beat up on a horrible Washington State team in San Antonio. Loss at Pitt kills their BCS aspirations.
22. Oklahoma
Weird game for the Sooners breaking their season trends. Offense played great, defense played badly. Will need the offense to have a good, turnover free game in Lincoln, while the defense keeps this a very low scoring affair.
23. Virginia Tech
Really a tossup who is the tallest midget/best 3 loss team. Va Tech lost last week so OU is ahead of them.
24. Wisconsin
3rd best team in the Big Ten. There's faint praise.
| 25. Cal |
Someone has to be 25th, and the 4th best teams from the Big12 and SEC, and don't really deserve to be ranked right now over the 4th best team in the Pac 10.
