This is a what have you done for me lately/complete resume poll. Each week I’ll be adjusting positions based on how teams have played, who they have played, and finally how they lost. Last week’s poll won’t have an appreciable impact on this week’s. A team ranked 19th, may stay 19th despite 3 teams losing ahead of them.
As always comments are appreciated and will be integrated into the final ballot

Taw Poll |
Rationale |
|
1. TCU |
Great season finished. Probably playing the best defense of Patterson's career and he has the best offense to date. |
|
2. UF |
Looked the best of the 3 title teams in their in state rivalry battles. QB edge goest to UT/UF. Defense edge goes to UF/Bama |
|
3 Bama |
Their defense showed some signs of vulnerability on their defense especially in the secondary. Offense still looks vulnerable if you can sell out to stop their running game. |
|
4. Cincinnati |
Win versus Pittsburgh will give Cinci the perfect regular season. Huge stakes for Cinci a loss sends them plummating in bowl prestige |
|
5. UT |
Good news, band news story. Offense looked great against woeful ATM defense. Defense which has been solid all year long looked horrible against ATM. |
|
6. Boise |
Ran the table again and OSU's humiliation in Norman has put them in good shape for a BCS at large bid. Nevada gave their defense major problems but the Boise balanced offense came through. |
|
7. Oregon |
Need to win Civil War to win the Rose Bowl. |
| 8. Ohio State |
Best Big Ten team. Faint praise at best. |
|
9. Iowa |
2nd Best Big Ten team |
| 10. Georgia Tech | Lost to UGA in their annual rivalry. Not as bad as Clemson's meltdown against South Carolina. |
| 11. Pittsburgh | Dropped the backyard brawl condemning hundreds of outdoor couches to death, however redemption is just a win over Cincinnati away. |
|
11. Virginia Tech |
Best 3 loss team. Probably. |
|
12. Nebraska |
Beat CU for a nice 9 win season. Great defense, bad offense. |
|
13. Miami, FL |
Put the finishing touches on USF's usual end of the year dive, and the season that saves Randy Shannon's job. |
|
14. Penn State |
I'd love to rank this average team lower. But they are 10-2. |
|
15. Oregon State |
Win Civil War and the Beavers will make an unlikely run to the Rose Bowl |
|
16. USC |
Not only has Carroll lost his big game winning label along with his little game loser label, but now he's added Biggest Late Scoring Hypocrite Coach award. Apparently Pete only believes in not running up the score when he's the victim. |
|
17. LSU |
Mad ASShater apparently read his College Time Management for Dummies this week. Good job too because a loss the week that the NCAA shows up would be very, very bad |
|
18. BYU |
Clutch overtime win over Utah. Best BYU win of the year. |
| 19. Houston | Breakthrough year for Sumlin at 10-2 with wins over the Big 12. |
|
20. Utah |
Tough OT loss for Utah. A team with very good losses on the road against ranked teams. |
|
21. Oklahoma State |
Not surprised that OSU lost in Norman. That the OSU offense was completely dominated by the OU defense was surprising. OSU never had a chance in this game. OSU's best team and they still get dominated at home by UT, and in Norman by OU. Sure technically they are the number two team in the Big 12 South, but they failed in all of their real goals this year. |
|
22. Cal |
Win over UDUB would give Cal a great second half of the year to salvage their season. Shane Vereen might be the best backup RB in the country. |
|
23. Texas Tech |
A very inconsistent team, but wins over Nebraska and OU give the Pirates the 4th best Big 12 team label. |
|
24. Stanford |
Ended any hope of the Charlie Weis regime lasting into next year. Toby Gerhart is my Heisman winner. |
| 25. West Virginia | Rallied to beat Pittsburgh. Big East was actually a decent conference this year. |
