I felt like calling this a review would be criminally unfair.
Positives:
Defense. Just about every facet of it. In reality, it gave up 3 points. NU's offense is awful, and OU kept them awful.
Negatives:
The defense with NU in a total offensive shell was unable to score 7 points. Hard to call that a negative, but it was probably the only way OU was going to score a TD last night.
Absolute Total Trainwreck:
Offensive play calling. OU had a huge opportunity to jump on NU early but started tentative and conservative. It went downhill from there. 7 drives inside the NU 30. 3 points.
Offensive line play: in the first half the OL got completely dominated. Not a huge surprise, NU's front four is the only elite thing about Nebraska. No running lanes again. Add in some driving killing penalties. Corey Brandon obviously has suffered some kind of head injury that does not permit him to understand the concept of the snap count.
Wide Receiver play: Adron Tennell regressed completely back to the unreliable, not fighting for catches WR that got benched for 3 games after BYU. Broyles and Miller with Caleb hurt were about it at WR.
Quarterback play: You have to wonder at what point Heupel/Stoops thought about pulling the redshirt off Drew Allen last night. Landry was consistently missing WRs high, behind. You name it. Now sure the OL struggled, but even when Landry had time, he was horrible. The INTs were the worst part. Drive killers being the worst part. All Landry had to was to not give NU easy points, and he did exactly that. Easily the worst QB effort of the Stoops era surpassing Bomar against UT in 2005 where he was throwing lawn darts at garden gnomes, and Hybl against OSU in 2001 where he missed open WRs again and again. But neither of those guys threw 5 Ints.
Field Goal kicking: everyone in college football has a better field goal kicking game than OU. Two years of beyond awful FG game. It was amusing last year when we scoring 60 a game, this year it's costing us football games. We are probably going to see a return to Stevens, who cannot hit long FGs either.
A new list of what should happen but won't
1. Open tryouts for kicker. Paging Kathy Ireland
2. Drew Allen's redshirt is done. This spring Landry looked pretty average, some folks even thinking Drew Allen outplayed him. The biggest concern right now is Landry's accuracy and decision making. He should not be making those kind of mistakes this late in the season. Unless you want to guarantee the ascendancy of Landry for the next 3 years, you have to get Allen into a game this year. Bob is strict adherent to playing the most veteran QB. We have QB recruits coming burning Allen's redshirt is my opinion is less of an issue with Bell and Thompson verballed.
3. Pull Wilson's playcalling responsibilities. Wilson in every loss is clearly placing the blame on his playcalling and not getting it done. Enough is enough, time to figure out if Norvell or Heupel can be the OC, before you go shopping for a new one. The OL is a total mess. Patton is clearly not getting it done. Demote Wilson to focus on trying to coach up this mess, and find out what might be salvageable talent wise for next year.

Under what should happen I'd like to see us go back to a huddle. I really think it would minimize mistakes and improve execution. We use the clock anyway we just stand at the LOS waiting for the signal from the sideline.
