Well, don't say we didn't warn you.
Sounds like the curse of the Clippers has claimed another victim, this time the all-world beast and greatest Sooner of all-time, Blake Griffin. He apparently injured himself going for another monster jam tonight in the last of what has been a grueling preseason schedule.
He hurt his left knee on the play and his status for the season opener against the Lakers on Tuesday is in question, considered day to day.
Griffin did not practice today, nor did point guard Baron Davis (bruised right foot). Davis is expected to play against the Lakers. Marcus Camby (sprained ankle) did practice and could possibly get some minutes in the opener.
What is ominous for the Clippers is that this was the same knee Griffin hurt several days before training camp. He winced after coming down on the dunk, which came with just under four minutes left in the quarter, and immediately appeared to be in pain but kept on playing.
There are some reports saying that Blake fractured his kneecap and will be out for a month and a half. If that's the case, it sounds like his November 15 homecoming in Oklahoma City against the Thunder is in jeopardy.
Just another thing to pin on that douchenozzle Donald Sterling.
